Dan Trimble leads Convere’s efforts to build support for public causes, candidates, and public sector technologies in partnership with its clients. Often filling full-time, pro tempore senior roles, he helps clients set strategic priorities, manage programs, analyze results, and build consensus across stakeholders.
Trimble’s experience encompasses a wide range of industries, causes, and political campaigns in the nonprofit, private, and public sectors, including work in K-12 education, government transparency, military and public safety, and many others. He has also served as executive director of Lead21, a Silicon Valley political and policy advocacy organization for entrepreneurs that grew 802% under his leadership. Before starting his practice, Trimble was product marketing manager for worldwide promotions and strategic initiatives at Mercury Interactive and Freshwater Software, and earlier worked in marketing and product development for many other nonprofit and high-tech organizations.
An officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, Trimble has eight years of Active Duty and Reserve experience in joint defense operations and incident management. Presently assigned to the Incident Management Division at Sector San Francisco, in 2010, he deployed for eight months in support of nuclear ballistic missile submarine force protection operations. In earlier tours, he served in contingency planning and federal law enforcement roles; and began his career at the Pacific Area Command Center, helping save 322 lives and coordinating the Coast Guard’s response to several major terrorist attacks.
A sixth generation native Californian, Trimble earned his undergraduate in business administration, international business, and public administration from Golden Gate University. He is an avid traveler, sailor, equestrian, traveler, photographer, skier, traveler, and a wannabe gourmet cook. He and his wife, Heather, live in Silicon Valley.
